Analyzer is a powerful web-based application that uses data from the
most current Stats Canada census to create a ?footprint? representing
each newspaper's coverage area. Market Analyzer is a dynamic tool you

papers, and we'll look after the insertion orders and tear sheets.
You'll receive one invoice with the proof of publication.
What we need to know
To provide you with fast, economical bookings we need the following information from you:
- size of the ad
- list of newspapers for bookings
- weeks in which you want your ad to appear
- electronic copy or PDF
- advertising caption ?heading?
- positioning request
- color requirements
To
realize cost savings for our advertisers, we offer standardized column
widths. We prefer electronic delivery of ads in PDF format. Download
the file ?Display Mechanics? for more information on creating PDFs for
our papers. We also accept ads in Quark Express, PageMaker and MS Word,
but there will be a charge of $15 per ad to convert to PDF. Digitized
ads are posted to our internal server for deliver to member papers.
There is a processing fee of $3 per paper.
PDF Checklist
- Embed all fonts
- Don't use colour in a black and white ad
- Don't use CMYK images in Spot Colour ads
- Don't enable any security settings
- Use 200 dpi for grayscale and colour; 600 dpi for black and white images
- set the line frequency to 85 lpi
- Don't use jpeg compression
- Send a composite and separated version of colour ads
- Make compatible with Acrobat version ?
- Print a test before sending
- An
85% line screen is an average for most ad materials, although certain
materials may require more specific instructions or information.
Special Notes
Double Page Spreads: There is a charge for one extra column (the gutter) for double page spreads.
Guaranteed
Placement: SWNA will note your request for ad positioning, but cannot
guarantee it. A member paper may have already booked your preferred
space with a local advertiser, without us being aware of it.
Display Ad Deadlines and Cancellations
To
ensure placement, we must receive all materials and bookings by 2:00 PM
Thursday the week prior to publication. A $3 late booking fee will
apply to any bookings received after the deadline. The same deadline
applies if you need to cancel a booking. If a cancellation is received
after the deadline, the client will have to pay for the space booked.
